Hello

Lago Vista cabin, owned by the Pierotti family, rests serenely on the shores of Twain Harte Lake, approximately 2-2.5 hours from the Bay Area just below the 4000 Ft elevation in the Sierra Nevadas in California. Built in the mid 1930’s, the cabin was originally built by Hiram Johnson, a governor of California. The cabin has been in the Pierotti family since 1970. Beginning in 2024, summer and off-season rentals will be available by referral.

Why we think you'll love it here too...

Twain Harte is a perfect winter, summer, or off season getaway and offers lots to do for the active family. Located in outskirts of Sonora and the gold country, there are activities close by such as snow and water skiing, swimming, golf, gold country sightseeing, hiking, fishing, wine tasting or just plain relaxing. Lago Vista should meet or exceed your expectations when it comes to that summer or winter special getaway. Temperatures in the summer are very pleasant and run usually from the low 60’s to the low 90’s. Winter temps can run from the 30’s to 50’s. Spring and Fall are generally mild running from the 50’s to 70’s. Winter snow comes and goes so dealing with too much snow is not a problem.

The property is full of pine trees, cedar trees, black oak and dogwoods with a large lawn area in the rear that feeds into the dock and lake area. The cabin sleeps 12+ comfortably so two families can easily share if wanted. There is a large deck for your summer entertaining that overlooks the lake on those warm days and evenings. Though a cabin in every respect, the home is well equipped with modern appliances and most things you would need. Situated on the lake offers lots of privacy and room to roam. Lago Vista cabin is close to the quaint town of Twain Harte and everything is in easy walking distance.
